I am probably the last person to give advice on anything school related – I hardly attended high school classes and even though I started 4 different college majors, I never got past my Associates either – but I was always prepared and able to entertain myself when I needed to. I just happen to get bored really easily, and only studied hard for those classes that I actually enjoyed going to =) But with school starting again this month, I thought I’d give you a little advice on what to bring with you so you’re ready to study & relax during school hours!

A cute netbook

Why carry around 6 different notebooks and binders every day when you can carry around 1 lightweight netbook? You can easily arrange all your different classes and notes in little device, and use the internet too! Netbooks start at very low prices or can be purchased for free with an internet subscription. My favorite is the Vivienne Tam netbook by HP, but Dell and Sony also have very cute colored and stylish netbooks.

Big (tote) bag

I hated backpacks, always have and always will. They don’t look and feel right to me! So I started carrying a tote bag with me when I was around 13 years old. Sure some other students thought I was weird but just a couple of years later and everyone was comfortable wearing whatever they wanted to wear. Tote bags are practical too, and if you have a notebook you don’t need to carry around pounds of heavy notebooks anymore! You can leave and exchange your books in your locker between classes. I love Juicy Couture tote bags (pictured above), but H&M and Zara also have cute affordable tote bags in their collection every season. Just carry around something that you feel and look comfortable in!

Comfortable clothes & shoes

I never understood why some girls felt the need to turn school into a fashion show. Wearing high heels, skirts and spending hours on make up and hair – seriously girls? You’re in school to learn or relax, not to show off or try to be cool. I’m all for experimenting in your high school and college years, but wouldn’t you rather sleep in the extra half hour instead of waking up to find the perfect outfit and make up? And because I was dressed comfortable I was also able to join in for fun after school. Able to go anywhere, walk around the city and just live your life.. without worrying if you can still walk on your 4 inch heels or if the rain will ruin your hair. I lived in my boots, All Stars, hoodies and jeans in college. I did wear make up but kept it minimal on days where classes started early.. I will take the extra time to sleep anytime over looking gorgeous for no apparent reason on a school day!

Nintendo DS

The Nintendo DS is so small it will fit into any bag. It can entertain you between classes, on your way to school and back, and it’s really fun! But it’s not just fun, Nintendo offers many “learning” games such as Brain Age that train your brains as well. So you will feel smart doing something fun =) If some of your classmates also have the DS you can play together over the wireless network. Or send messages and drawings back and forth – school needs to be fun!

Other random stuff I’d carry in my bag: candy, gum, your favorite pen, a little notebook to write in and your (smart)phone. I love being organized but also being able to have fun during boring times =)

Don’t have time to watch the 3 prequel Star Wars movies but still want to understand the love story between Anakin (pre- Darth Vader) and Padmé? Watch this really cute short movie in 20′s style – no voice dialog and black&white screen. But with really cute quotes and a twist at the end =)

Years ago when I started my first blog as a young teenager (I believe in 1999), the blogging scene was quite small. I remember not even telling my friends and family that I blogged because I was a little embarrassed – because blogging just wasn’t something that people my age did back then. But today, everyone can be a blogger and it’s considered to be something cool (at least I think so, lol) and even celebrities are blogging away now. Most celebrities use Social Media websites to update their audience about their daily lives, but some have serious blogging skills and update their own websites daily! Here are my three favorite celebrity bloggers.

Kim Kardashian

Kim started blogging a couple of years ago – and I have been following her pretty much from the beginning. I even interacted with her twice in her comments section that she reads and responds to ^^ I love her blog because she updates multiple times a day and doesn’t shy away from being honest and revealing her personal life behind the scenes. She posts a ton of pictures and videos and is quite entertaining. Click on the screenshot to enter her blog! Nicole Richie

Nicole Richie updates her blog a couple of times a week with pictures, videos and updates on her daily life. She also posts a lot about fashion, including her own fashion lines but also about other places to shop and what she is into right now. It’s very creative and visual, and she also hosts little contests to win exclusive items from her fashion lines. I love her blog! Click on the screenshot to read Nicole Richie’s blog.

Kendra Wilkinson

Hugh Hefners ex-girlfriend is now married and has a son, while featuring in her own reality TV show “Kendra” on E!. On her blog she posts a ton of personal pictures of her daily life and family. Although she heavily promotes her own merchandise and deals with banners and posts, it’s still fun to see what goes on behind the scenes on her blog. Especially the pictures of her little baby are adorable Click below to enter her website.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock in the past year, you definitely know who Snooki, Pauly D and The Situation are. They’re the Jersey Shore stars! With season 2 airing on US MTV right now (available worldwide by streaming on their official site) all sorts of Jersey Shore items are popping up for sale. Would you wear one of these outfits for Halloween? I have a feeling that a LOT of people will be rocking these and similar outfits so I am going to look for something a little more creative, but I still think they’re awesome!

Who says geeks can’t be romantic? I stumbled upon a older blogpost at Switched.com describing 8 geeky ways to ask your girlfriend to marry you – and yes these are all actual marriage proposals!

The one I liked most is by Rand Fishkin, who ideally wanted to buy commercial time during the Super Bowl and show a very special message for his girlfriend. Because Super Bowl ads are super expensive ($75,000) he created a website where he could raise money to make this happen. He eventually raised this money – but he was too late to buy the commercial time. So what he did instead is buy time during her favorite TV show (Veronica Mars ^^) and aired his commercial there. Of course she said yes! They donated the remaining money to charity.

Another geeky marriage proposal is by Barry Schwartz, who reached out to people at search engine AskJeeves.com. He wanted to catch his girlfriend off guard while she was browsing the internet, so he tricked her into going to the search engine and typing in her name. AskJeeves has a “smart answer” on top but instead of it just being a link he had put a picture on top of her and him, and next to this picture it said “Yisha, will you marry me?” when she looked at her boyfriend he was already on his knees with a ring and flowers! Aww…

Aaahh I found the cutest little geek gadget. I have never owned a coin bank in my life I believe, I don’t know what saving means I just spend spend spend =) But with this cute coin bank I’m thinking that might change! Not your regular coin bank, this Japanese version collects your money for you.. check out this little video:

This little coin bank is available in 8 different models, 4 kittens and 4 puppies. It sells for about $22 at Strapya World, a Japanese online shop. They also sell really cute accessoiries and little gadgets =) What do you think, will your money finally be safe this way?

This month, a new BlackBerry model will finally be released: the BlackBerry Torch 9800. Unlike the typical BlackBerry model, this one comes with both the BlackBerry keyboard and a touchscreen! This change was much needed I believe, as all the previous models resembled each other and touchscreens are the future.. The phone will also come with a new operating system called BlackBerry 6. This system will also be available for download for a couple of the latest BlackBerry models later this year.

I am not completely convinced on the look of this phone – I think it’s more attractive and practical to have the sliding keyboard on the longer part of the phone (such as the Nokia N97). But I guess I have to see the phone to really be able to judge that. The phone comes with 4GB of internal storage (plenty to take 1000′s of pictures and to store all your messages), features a 5MP camera, internet on WiFi and 3G. I’m going to try to get a hold of this phone before or when it comes out in The Netherlands and do a video review of it! I don’t think I will be switching back to BlackBerry just yet, I’m still very much in love with my HTC. Now if it also comes with faster internet, supports Flash and features a better camera I’d say RIM is going into the right direction =)

AT&T will sell the latest BlackBerry in stores on August 12 in The US, later this year Vodafone will offer the phone in The UK and The Netherlands among others. Check out the official website here. Do you like this new design or not? Let me know!

I was browsing YouTube (I can spend hours on YouTube browsing videos), and came accross IGN’s channel which is updated daily with video game news! And the best part, their “daily fix” video is presented by a girl. I love seeing other girls on YouTube doing their own thing and becoming successful in what is still more of a guys world. Of course I searched for Guitar Hero news and this video came up:
